The Director-General of the New South Wales Department of Education and Training, Michael Coutts-Trotter visited Bathurst West Public School to look at strategies being implemented within the school. He commented on the direction the school had taken in involving the community in the school through a playgroup, the Term 3 and 4 Transisiton to School Program and additional classes established to cater for the needs of students in the wider Bathurst District community.
